Why is a high-quality cashmere scarf warmer than two sweaters?
I believe every woman has several scarves in her wardrobe, and as an "accessible" item, you may buy them every year.
But, have you bought the one you should own? For example: a cashmere scarf!
In today's cashmere world, only four factions have the strength to be crowned king.
One is Indian cashmere, which follows a mysterious street stall route. There are no world-famous brands; in any shop you walk into, you'll find Kashmir "shatush" collected from remote mountain villages, with unique handmade woven patterns; even the owner may not be able to tell you exactly what material it is.
The price depends entirely on your mood; the owner smiles the whole time, and any price is fine as long as you are happy; it falls into the "looks good but not necessarily worth it" range.
One is Italian cashmere, which follows the luxury goods route of publicly listed companies. For example, LV, since buying Loro Piana, has been throwing money at advertising, and now everyone knows LP's three treasures: lotus, camel, and lamb.
A plain T-shirt costs tens of thousands of yuan, and a coat costs hundreds of thousands; it falls into the "looks good but I can't afford it" range.
Another is Scottish cashmere, which follows a low-key and conservative route.
One is Chinese cashmere, which follows a "low-price, contemporary feel" route. Currently, 70% of the world's cashmere is produced in China. Being in China and using Chinese cashmere is naturally economical.
When it gets cold, a cashmere scarf will make you fall in love without warning. Once you get used to its texture, you probably won't want to wear any other scarf.
Why choose cashmere for a scarf?
First, because cashmere is very skin-friendly, smooth, and soft.
The skin on the neck is very sensitive. If the scarf is even slightly rough, it will feel itchy and unbearable. Therefore, the scarf fabric must be sufficiently delicate and soft.
Under a microscope, the scales of cashmere fibers are more tightly closed than those of wool, and the fiber surface is smoother, making it softer and more skin-friendly than wool. Inner Mongolian cashmere fibers are only 14-19 micrometers thick, finer and softer than wool.
It feels incredibly soft and fluffy, like being enveloped in a cloud when wrapped around your neck. It doesn't prickle your neck at all! It's so soft and warm that you want to bury your face in it, it's incredibly comforting.
Secondly, cashmere fabric is exceptionally warm. Cashmere fibers are hollow, allowing them to store heat and air, and combined with substantial material, it can withstand winter winds.
Its warmth is twice that of wool. Wearing a cashmere scarf in winter is warmer than wearing two ordinary woolen sweaters.
Finally, cashmere scarves are very durable. As long as you take proper care of them, cashmere can accompany you through many winters.
The cashmere shawl I bought last year, when taken out of the cupboard this year and worn, still feels as warm and soft as when it was new.
The cashmere scarves sold at a lifestyle store last year were very popular, and this year more colors have been added, suitable for both men and women.
How are soft cashmere scarves made?
Cashmere scarves on the market often cost thousands; those unfamiliar with them might think they are expensive. If you've felt the texture of a cashmere scarf and understand its production process, you'll know how rare and precious cashmere is.
Cashmere is the finer, softer layer of wool from a goat, growing at the base of the outer wool.
Every spring and summer is the goat's molting season, and herders use a comb to gently comb out this layer of down.
But combing isn't the end; the cashmere must be washed and dried, then the mixed and dark hairs are hand-picked out.
Only then are these strands of pure white, smooth, and fine fibers obtained.
After that, it undergoes multiple combing and weaving processes before becoming a thick, warm cashmere scarf.
Cashmere has low yield and complex processes. Like gold, it is priced by the gram, so it's also known as "soft gold."
Each goat yields only about 170g of cashmere per year; a 300g scarf with 98% cashmere content requires the cashmere from approximately two goats.
With this thickness and material, the price is not high; compared to cashmere scarves that often cost over a thousand, the value for money is exceptionally high.
The moment your skin touches cashmere, experiencing that soft, wonderful touch, you'll know your money was well spent.
Suitable for both men and women, warm and lightweight.
Cashmere itself is lighter than other materials, so this scarf is warm without being heavy.
These colors are easy to match, especially with darker clothes; a scarf like this brightens the look.
Pure wool scarf, made from Inner Mongolian first-shearing wool, also boasts good warmth and comfort.
